Tweet I posted yesterday to complain about how busy I was. It’ll probably take me weeks to show up and post again, but in the meantime I wanted to brag about a couple of those projects that did get finished: A Consortium of Worlds A Consortium of Worlds is the new quarterly speculative-fiction short story […]

Tweet This morning I found time to make a Twitter post. That statement really ought to sound absurd. A Twitter post is barely a sentence. But I’ve made that one of my personal goals lately (“Make more Twitter posts”), and I’ve consistently failed at it. Maybe this morning’s Twitter post will shed some light on […]
Tweet Over the last two weeks I’ve pulled aside the curtain and given you a peek into the nuts and bolts of my nascent publishing empire. I know it’s considered uncouth to talk about money. (Sometimes it’s considered dangerous, too, especially to talk about it on the internet.) But I also know where that particular […]

Tweet WHAT?! NO WILAWriTWE?!? That’s right, my dear inklings. Today, I shall give you a work(s)-in-progress update, which, if my calculations search functions are correct, I have not done since February. Fortunately for us all, a WsIP update also qualifies as a WILAWriTWe, because part of learning about writing includes all the doings of The […]

Two days ago, seven Consortium writers gathered in Aaron’s living room to roundtable edit each other’s short story submissions for the upcoming Consortium Worlds, Vol. 1 e-zine. I probably don’t have to tell you how apprehensive I was, going into that meeting…

Aaron’s new release and my final draft completion have me thinking airy thoughts about publication and book sales and promotion and what-hast-thou. Accordingly, I’ve been keeping an eye on our sales numbers…
Tweet I’ve got a lot of brothers-in-law. I have two sisters, both married, so that gives me two. My wife has two brothers, too, so that brings me up to four. My wife also has three sisters, all of whom are married, for a grand total of seven brothers-in-law. One of my sisters is married […]
Tweet I lived in Wichita, KS, for six years while I was growing up. That’s where I attended middle school and high school. That’s where I wrote my first fantasy story, and my first (terrible) novel. That’s where I met my wife. That’s where I made most of the friends who have shaped my life […]

Having no idea whatsoever how long it might take to rewrite Legend’s Heir (working title), and needing a writing project other than blogging (so that I wouldn’t go crazy), I sat down this past weekend and started rewriting what I am now referring to as The Monster Epic Fantasy Novel (MEFaN) — thereby proving that I have gone crazy.

Tweet On Tuesday I interrupted a three-week introduction to the Kindle publishing phenomenon for a case study near and dear to our hearts: Courtney Cantrell’s Kindle publishing success story. Now, admittedly she’s no Hocking yet. She’s a success regardless. She has already sold well beyond her immediate circle of friends and family, and even out […]
